The Albemarle boys swim team is heading back to the Group AAA after beating Osbourne Park by a 12 points to win the Northwest Region title.
The Patriots started the night strong when Ryan McGhee, Sean Cudahy, Tim Webb and Patrick Tubridy combined to take second place in the 200 yard medley relay.
Cudahy would then go on to take second in the 200 individual medley. Tubridy also placed third in the 50 free and lead the way with Matt Solomon, Chase Robbins and Matt Lockman to a top finish in the 200 free relay.
The Albemarle girls placed eighth as a team at the same meet. Holly Harper took first place in the 100 backstroke and fourth in the 100 free. Harper, Christine Pajewski, Melanie Freshwater and Corrine Sharp also placed fourth in the 200 free relay.
The Group AAA championship is on Saturday at the Bayside Recreational Center in Virginia Beach.
