Orange County picked up its first win of the year Monday night, beating Culpeper 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21).
The Hornets got a strong performance from Donae Brooks at the service line and in the passing game as Brooks finished with 14 service points and 16 assists, keying the offense to a solid performance.
“The team communicated well and made order out of chaos,” said Orange coach Brianna Hoover. “Every player contributed to this win.”
Laine Harrington’s 10 kills and nine service points helped power the attack while Autumn Green stepped up defensively with seven digs. The Hornets take on Powhatan Tuesday at home.
