Orange County baseball pushes past Spotsylvania

A four-run fifth inning lifted Orange County baseball to a 7-1 victory over defending Class 3 champion Spotsylvania Wednesday night, with Brett Jennings posting a solid night on the mound to spark the Hornets.

 

Jennings struck out nine and allowed just two hits while issuing four walks in six innings of work. Zach Redifer closed out the game with a clean seventh inning, striking out one.

 

Canon Davies knocked in two runs and went 1-for-3. Christian Koontz, Kyle Johnson, Keenan Williams and Jennings each knocked in a run. Koontz posted a triple while Jennings and Williams each ripped doubles. Blake Wilson scored three runs.

 

The Hornets will travel to take on Louisa County Friday at 7 p.m.
