Orange County baseball falls to Briar Woods

Orange County’s baseball team gave itself a chance in the Region 5A North quarterfinals, but the Hornets couldn’t scratch out a win over Briar Woods Friday night, falling 5-3.

In what became Bradley Hanner’s final appearance for the Hornets, he struck out nine and allowed just two earned runs and five hits. But three errors cost the Hornets and allowed Briar Woods to build an advantage and hold on for the win.

Christian Amos led the Hornets’ offense with a 2-for-3 night with two RBI. Cannon Davies and Kaleb Marshall also each had hits, with Marshall knocking in a run.

Orange finishes the season at 18-5.
