Monticello unleashed a barrage of shots against Charlottesville, and three of them snuck past CHS’s defense to give the Mustangs a 3-0 victory going into a critical matchup at home Friday with Western Albemarle.
Darcy Almenti led Monticello in points with a pair of assists and a goal, while Sarah Mitchell knocked home two goals. Paige Lipscomb assisted on Almenti’s goal. The Mustangs’ tandem in goal of Liz Cosgrove and Aileen Berringer combined for nine stops.
Sam Miller had 12 saves for the Black Knights.
