Monticello made short work of Fluvanna County’s softball team Tuesday, rolling 14-0 on the strength of Victoria Scott’s no-hit performance in a game that was called due to run rule after the top of the fifth inning.
The Mustangs got a quartet of multi-hit performances from Brittney Via (2-for-4), Rachel Eplee (2-for-3), Kaitlyn Bodine (2-for-4) and Scott (2-for-3). Scott was a rock in the circle, dishing out 13 strikeouts while surrendering just a single walk and no hits.
The Mustangs are now 14-1 and 9-1 in the Jefferson District.
