There aren’t many things better than a spirited, good-natured rivalry renewed.
This Saturday, William Monroe alumni will host Madison County Alumni in a men’s basketball game at William Monroe’s recently refurbished gym.
The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and tickets are $5. There will be a special announcement made regarding the naming of the gym floor at WMHS after long time teacher, coach, and athletic director Randy Michie. The game will include many members of the back-to-back boys basketball state champion squads from 1994 and 1995 at William Monroe.
Randy Michie passed away Tuesday. In addition to naming of the floor, a scholarship fund will be established with the proceeds from the game going to the fund.
