Louisa girls keep it rolling, beat Albemarle

Louisa County girls basketball kept things rolling Friday night, blasting past a scrappy Albemarle squad to pick up an 89-49 victory over the Patriots.

With four players in double figures, the Lions’ offense was locked in from the jump, leading 41-27 at the break. The defense ratcheted down in the second half and the Lions pulled away despite 27 points from Amaya Pendelton for the Patriots.

Sylvie Jackson finished with 27 for Louisa while Olivia McGhee had a monster game on both ends of the floor with 22 points and 15 rebounds.

Lydia Wilson and Taylor Fifer rounded out the bulk of the scoring with 13 and 11 points respectively.

Kaley Maynard chipped in 10 points for the Patriots while Lauren Grady and Maggie Lynn each hit 3-pointers.

The Lions will host Charlottesville Tuesday while Albemarle faces a quick turnaround Saturday when they host Orange at 2:30 p.m.
