Fluvanna girls beat Louisa County for fourth-straight victory

Fluvanna County’s girls basketball team is in the process of closing out the regular season strong and the Flucos won their fourth straight game Friday night on the road against Louisa beating Louisa 59-47.

Part of the reason for that late season surge? Nevaeh Ivory has been explosive on the offensive end, and Friday was no exception as she poured in 29 points with 26 of the 29 coming from the field. With Mya Wright knocking down three 3-pointers as part of a 15-point, 10-rebound double double, the Flucos had plenty of offense to knock off the Lions. Jules Shepherd chipped in nine points for good measure while Khamare Steppe had four points.

Alexis Miller led the Lions with 16 points while Alexis Chapman finished with nine.

Fluvanna built a 32-26 advantage in the first half and steadily built on the lead from there.

The Flucos will face Western Albemarle on the road Tuesday with the Warriors looking to complete an unbeaten run through the Jefferson District regular season slate. The Lions will travel to take on Charlottesville Monday.
