Coming off just their second loss of the year, Buckingham County finished up the regular season doing the kind of things its built a reputation for. Facing Bluestone, the Knights rolled to 60-8 victory to head into the Eastern Sectional playoffs on a roll.
Both Kyree Koonce and Kenneth Johnson needed seven carries a piece before giving way to the bench. Koonce had 115 yards and a touchdown while Johnson had 44 yards and two scores of his own. Koonce was also a major factor on special teams taking both of his punt returns for touchdowns and a total of 164 yards.
In addition to picking up a rushing touchdown, Tariq Bartee had 12.5 tackles and a fumble recovery. Johnson also had a forced fumble and a recovery. Justin Ayres hauled in the team’s lone interception.
The Knights (8-2) will host an opponent TBD on Friday at 7 p.m.
