Basketball Roundup 12.14.18

Albemarle’s boys basketball team got another monster effort from Derrick Jones Friday night to beat Monticello 67-45.

Jones poured in 23 points and rang up four assists, four steals and four blocks for the Patriots while Chris Cox scored 13 points. Myles Ward finished with an all-around effort, notching six rebounds, three steals and three blocks.

 

STAB girls roll on the road

St. Anne’s-Belfield’s girls basketball team beat Stone Ridge 69-41 Friday with Vanessa Woodfolk leading the way. Woodfolk scored 23 points and hauled in 13 rebounds in a tremendous double double effort. Scottie Hull finished with 14 points for the Saints while Joviah Winkey and Sallie Vick had 10 points each.

 

Louisa’s boys pick up a win

Louisa County’s boys basketball team beat Orange County 66-49 behind a balanced offensive effort.

Chris Shelton led the Lions with 18 points while point guard Jarett Hunter finished with 13 points. Reggie Cosby finished with 12 points on the night, Xavien Hunter chipped in 10 and Isaac Haywood finished with eight points.

Kyrie Carter had 14 to lead Orange County while Chance Williams had 12 and Jaylen Alexander notched 11 points.

 

STAB boys fall in close one with VES

After battling their way back into the game late, St. Anne’s-Belfield’s boys basketball team fell to Virginia Episcopal 51-48 Friday night.

Mesiah Woods finished with 19 points on the night while Justin Taylor had 11 points and five boards and Dalton Taylor had 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
