Basketball Roundup 1.24.17: Smith scores 1,000th point, Buckingham boys, Western girls win

Isiah Smith has been a huge part of what Madison County boys basketball does since he first stepped on the floor. Which is why it comes as little surprise that he reached the 1,000-career point mark Monday on the road against Strasburg in a 78-54 win.

Smith has been a slashing, smart-shooting threat at the point and he was exactly that while surpassing that coveted career milestone, with 21 points on the night for the Mountaineers.

Dre Twyman finished with 16 for Madison, Elijah Lewis had 16 as well and Kobi Alexander had 12 points.

The Mountaineers will host Central Woodstock Wednesday.
