Albemarle boys basketball beats Culpeper

Albemarle’s boys basketball team got the season started Monday night with a 68-59 road win over Culpeper.

The re-tooled Patriots, coming off two straight state final four appearances, got things going in the post-Jake Hahn and Austin Katstra era with a 17-point performance by Maxx Jarmon and a stat-sheet filling effort by J’Quan Anderson. Anderson had 13 points, six rebounds, six assists and eight steals. Cartier Key notched 10 points and Na’il Arnold had 10 boards and five blocks.

The Patriots will host Patrick Henry-Roanoke Friday at 7:30 p.m. in another key early season matchup.
