Jefferson District Boys Quarterfinals Roundup

 

Western Albemarle’s boys basketball team beat Powhatan 75-57 in the Jefferson District quarterfinals.

 

Tommy Mangrum scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Andrew Shifflett scored 15 points and pulled down five boards. Riley Prichard scored 12 points and dished out six assists.

 

The Warriors advance to the semifinals Monday where they’ll travel to Albemarle for a fourth meeting with the Patriots.

 

Albemarle’s boys defeated Fluvanna County 66-38, with Chris Cox’s 21 points and five steals leading the way. Derrick Jones, Jr. scored 13 points while Myles Ward notched eight. Dasaun Taylor finished with five assists.

 

Louisa beat Monticello 79-54 in the other quarterfinal.

 

Jefferson District Girls Quarterfinals Roundup

 

Western Albemarle girls basketball beat Orange County 63-23 in the Jefferson District quarterfinals, with a double double of 18 points and 11 rebounds from Sydney Sherman leading the way.

 

Elisabeth Coffman had 10 points and seven assists while Ellie Plantz notched 10 points. Hannah Leeb chipped in six rebounds.

 

Lindsey Slaughter led Orange with seven points.

 

Fluvanna’s girls team shook off a slow first half to beat Monticello in the semifinals 38-26. Nevaeh Ivory finished with 13 points while Khamare Steppe had 10 points. Mya Wright boosted the offense with nine points.

 

Dasha Kinlaw led Monticello with seven points.

 

Powhatan beat Albemarle 46-42 in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
